The Story Behind Bullhorns Tavern

At Bullhorns Tavern, our roots run deep in hospitality. For over 20 years, we’ve proudly operated Derby City Limousines, one of Kentucky’s top-rated limousine and party bus companies, renowned for delivering 5-star VIP experiences. While we’re new to the bar and restaurant industry, this venture is the realization of a dream decades in the making.

It all began 34 years ago when a young Billy Bullhorn transformed his grandmother’s attic into a cozy home bar, igniting a lifelong passion for creating spaces where people can gather, laugh, and celebrate. That dream, combined with decades of experience in providing exceptional service, has grown into what you now know as Bullhorns Tavern.

By blending the hospitality expertise of Derby City Limousines with a vision for a welcoming, family-friendly neighborhood bar, Bullhorns Tavern is built to offer a unique, high-quality experience. BILLY BULLHORN

Hi, I’m Bill, a businessman, family man, and proud husband, father, and grandfather. I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Marsha, since 1999, and together we’ve raised three incredible kids while pursuing various business ventures. One of those is Derby City Limousines, which we’ve been running since 2005, providing top-notch transportation services to our clients.

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats. I’m a Kentucky Colonel, a CDL driver, a landlord, and a property manager. I’m also passionate about bourbon, which led me to become a Certified Executive Bourbon Steward—celebrating the history and craft of Kentucky’s finest spirit.

I’m proud to serve as Vice President of the Kentucky Limousine Association, working to raise the bar in the transportation industry. I also sit on the board of Sunchase Condos in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where I help manage and improve the community for all residents.

Through it all, my family and my faith in hard work have been my guiding lights. Whether it’s running a business, managing properties, or enjoying a good glass of bourbon, I believe in giving my all to every endeavor.

More than just a welcoming presence, Marsha is also the designer behind the inviting atmosphere you’ll find at Bullhorns. Her eye for detail and passion for creating memorable spaces make the tavern as charming as it is comfortable. A true “people person,” Marsha thrives on connecting with guests, making everyone who walks through our doors feel like part of the Bullhorns family.

Whether it’s a warm greeting, a perfectly curated space, or her knack for making guests feel at home, Marsha brings her heart and soul to Bullhorns Tavern every day.

Kitchen Manager

Avy is the Kitchen Manager at Bullhorns Tavern, bringing years of expertise from her time managing at Derby City Pizza in Mt. Washington. With a deep passion for great food and a talent for crafting unforgettable flavors, Avy ensures every guest has a top-notch bar food experience.

Avy is the creative force behind our food menu, designing dishes that are unique to Bullhorns and guaranteed to keep you coming back for more. From classic favorites to one-of-a-kind creations, her dedication to quality and flavor shines in every bite.
